Yuto Suzuki's hit manga, "SAKAMOTO DAYS," has captivated fans with its stellar storytelling and epic action sequences. It later spawned a TV anime adaptation, with its second season currently airing and heating up screens.
Today (September 22), the 43rd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump officially announced that "SAKAMOTO DAYS" is getting a live-action movie adaptation, gracing the cover of this week's issue.

▼ The announcement immediately became a trending topic on X.
The big reveal came straight from the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial department, with "Live-Action Movie Adaptation" emblazoned across the cover. Given the manga's immense popularity and unique style, a live-action version feels like a perfect fit. Naturally, the news instantly sent fans into a frenzy, speculating about who might star.
Unsurprisingly, many netizens immediately thought of Ren Meguro from Snow Man, who has recently starred in live-action adaptations like the drama "Trillion Game" and the movie "My Happy Marriage." He seems like a strong contender!

Others, of course, brought up the classic combo of "Kento Yamazaki & Director Yuichi Fukuda"—are they trying to make a comedy version of this?! LOL.

Still, some fans are worried that a live-action adaptation might miss the mark entirely, ending up looking like a cosplay convention or a bizarre, butchered version of the original.

According to the weekly magazine, the "SAKAMOTO DAYS" live-action movie is slated for release during Japan's Golden Week holidays in 2026. Further details are expected to be officially revealed on September 23, likely including the cast and production team. We'll just have to wait for more official announcements!
