HG Red Gundam & Light Cannon Limb Swap in GQuuuuuuX: New Fun Poses, Light Cannon Becomes a Girl!

If you're into Gunpla, you've probably tried all sorts of customization tricks: painting, cutting, weathering, you name it. It's all about making your model unique. But what about combining parts from different Mobile Suits to create something truly wild?

Gunpla YouTuber Takahashi ( @gdam429mk2 ) recently shared a hilarious experiment: a video where he swapped the limbs between the HG Red Gundam and the HG Light Cannon, both from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX." The result? The "new Red Gundam" turned out unexpectedly badass, while the Light Cannon's fresh look was just plain fun, earning massive praise from netizens for the bizarre creativity.

The YouTube channel "Takarabo" used two HG 1/144 models from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX": the Red Gundam and the Light Cannon. Since both units sport a red color scheme, the limb swap didn't look too out of place.

While the limbs of both Mobile Suits looked similar, a closer comparison after disassembly revealed that the Light Cannon's limbs were actually larger. When these parts were attached to the Red Gundam, they not only fit surprisingly well but also instantly made the entire unit look bulkier, almost muscular. The chest and torso colors also blended seamlessly with the new limbs, making it look like this was its original design all along.

Add in the shoulder-mounted cannon, plus the Red Gundam's original drone attack units and shield, and the whole thing leveled up into a custom Red Gundam that just oozes presence.

Conversely, the Light Cannon, stripped of its original limbs and fitted with the Gundam's parts, ended up with a slender physique. Posing it pigeon-toed even gave it a "girly" vibe, completely transforming its whole aura! What a twist!

While the Red Gundam got a beefed-up, heavily armed upgrade, the slenderized Light Cannon sparked a different kind of discussion. Comments poured in like, "The Light Cannon is hilariously skinny," "That 'Light Cannon' in the back is so cute," and "This skinny version of the Light Cannon, plus that pose, really gives off a girly vibe; I'm totally charmed!" Looks like this hit a sweet spot for some Gunpla fans!

So, what do you think? Would you give this kind of customization a shot? Swapping parts between different Gunpla kits could lead to some truly wild and fun creations!
