Remember Japanese model maestro Popogorilla ( @changumu55 ), who previously wowed us with his incredible Pokémon-themed Gunpla builds like the "HG Mega Gardevoir" and "HG Giratina Origin Forme"?
Well, he's back with a new masterpiece! Once again, he's taken multiple Gunpla and 30MS kits, disassembled, reassembled, and repainted them to create a stunning rendition of the legendary Hoenn Pokémon, "Kyogre." His ingenious concept and the flawless execution of the final product are earning him well-deserved praise once more!
For this build, Popogorilla utilized various parts from Gunpla, 30MS, and other model kits. The challenge was to give Kyogre a mechanical beast vibe, rather than a humanoid one, which required meticulous selection and arrangement of suitable components. This part, he admitted, really put his creativity to the test.
Many components were sourced from different model kits, and naturally, piecing them together to form a cohesive shape demanded considerable effort.
Of course, some connection points didn't quite align, even requiring manual drilling to fit the kits together perfectly.
Assembly complete! The model was then primed in gray for easier color adjustment later.
He also prepped a coloring plan to finalize his paint choices.
After painting, the vibrant colors really pop! Combined with the original mechanical elements of the Gunpla, every detail was carefully crafted—it's far more than just a simple paint job.
This Kyogre looks utterly mechanized, almost like a Paradox Pokémon, and it's undeniably cool. The mechanical creature aesthetic gives it a truly futuristic vibe.

This marks Popogorilla's fifth venture into combining Pokémon with Gunpla. From choosing the Pokémon to selecting materials, this project truly pushed him into a different style. He plans to keep experimenting with more combinations in the future.
