Gunpla builders know the drill: painting, cutting, weathering – it's all about making your kit unique. And when it comes to wild, out-of-the-box creations, that's where "Gunpla is Freedom" truly shines.
Today, we're spotlighting Japanese modeler Protocraft (@protocraft_bg), who's taken the art of kitbashing to a whole new level. He's transformed an "MG Dom" into something completely unrecognizable, and his ingenious creativity is earning major props online.

The base kit for this insane build? The 1999 "MG Dom." While it got a reissue in 2022, the original is pretty rare these days. But Protocraft didn't flinch, grabbing *two* of these sought-after kits for his project. The result? You'd never guess its origins.

When he dropped the finished product on X, exclaiming, "Everyone, check out this Gunpla!!!!!!!!!!!!" fans were absolutely floored. What they saw was a four-legged mechanical beast!
Structurally, it still uses the Dom's inner frame and weaponry, covered in purple armor parts, which seems normal enough... but the overall silhouette screams something out of "Ghost in the Shell" or the "Armored Core" series. That uncanny blend of organic and mechanical makes it impossible to trace back to its Dom origins.

Netizens quickly chimed in with comments like, "Is that an evil Tachikoma, lol?" "No way that's a Dom!?" and "How on earth did they even build this?!" This wild custom definitely has everyone wondering about the build process.

This isn't Protocraft's first rodeo either. He's previously merged three Mobile Suits from "Gundam SEED"—the "Calamity Gundam," "Raider Gundam," and "Forbidden Gundam"—into one epic "Demon God Fusion" Gundam. He's truly a master of the kitbash.
