This 'MG Jegan' Model Kit Looks So Good, It Leapt Straight Off the Box Art!

For Gunpla builders, customizing your kits with paint, modifications, or weathering is all part of the fun to make them truly unique.

Today, we're spotlighting a Gunpla master known as 汚しの和 (kaz) (@BassistKaz), who absolutely crushed it by transforming an "MG Jegan" kit into a perfect replica of its box art. Netizens are going wild for their incredible skill!

The "RGM-89 Jegan," developed by Anaheim Electronics, served as the Earth Federation Forces' next-generation mass-produced mobile suit in "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack." It combined the best features of previous "GM" and "Nemo" series units, boasting excellent all-around performance, though its lighter frame raised concerns about structural integrity.

They posted their creation as part of the "#BoxArtChallenge" (#箱絵チャレンジ), focusing on the mass-produced MS "Jegan" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack."

The Jegan on the box art is a battle-hardened machine, scarred by countless skirmishes and the passage of time. To perfectly capture that gritty aesthetic, the builder employed exceptional weathering techniques, making the entire mobile suit look like it just walked off a battlefield. The heavy, realistic lighting and shadows create an incredible sense of realism, and posing it exactly like the box art takes the effect to another level.

Looking at it from other angles, you can truly appreciate the meticulous effort put into the paint job. The contrast in lighting and shadows used for the battle damage and weathering, combined with the strategic use of black, makes the final photos absolutely stunning, perfectly conveying that war-torn vibe.
