What Happens If You Don't Pick a Starter in "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A"? Players Deliberately Choose the Wrong Pokémon and Get Called Out by an NPC!

"Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A" has been a massive hit since launch, sparking tons of buzz. Many players diving into the game's opening starter Pokémon selection have stumbled upon a hilarious hidden dialogue.

Players are supposed to pick one of three starter Pokémon—Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile—before their first battle against a Pancham. But some rebellious players tried to pick their opponent's Pokémon instead, only to get hilariously roasted on the spot.

In the game's prologue, Pancham is the partner Pokémon of NPC Anri, who appears to challenge you after your luggage gets stolen. If players deliberately ignore the starter Pokémon and try to select Anri's Pancham, it triggers an Easter egg dialogue: "Huh? You want to pick Pancham? But that's someone else's Pokémon..." Immediately after, Anri jumps in to snap, "Don't be so cheeky! Pancham is MY Pokémon!"

This interaction quickly blew up across player communities and YouTube, with many streamers uploading clips of this "prank pick" and calling it one of "Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A's" most "human" Easter eggs right from the start. One player even commented, "Anri's reaction is so real, it's like stopping a friend from stealing your Pokémon!"
