If you're into Gunpla, you know the drill: painting, cutting, weathering – it's all part of making your kit uniquely yours, and it's practically a rite of passage for builders.
Recently, a Japanese dad on X (formerly Twitter) sparked a massive buzz after sharing his "son's Gunpla creation." This middle schooler's fourth-ever Gunpla build was so incredibly polished, even his own dad admitted he couldn't top it! The post quickly went viral, with netizens showering praise on the young builder's talent.

The proud papa is model creator Graham (@Graham_Anya), who previously gained attention for his own black-themed "Sazabi" Gunpla. While not quite competition-level, his skills as an amateur builder were already pretty solid.

This time, Graham showcased his son's latest masterpiece: a matte gray "Gouf," completed during his first year of middle school. The paint job is incredibly clean, the details are sharp, and it's hard to believe this is the work of a middle schooler – especially since it's only his fourth Gunpla build ever! According to Graham, his son did everything himself; dad just helped with the final clear coat.
Graham added, "He only built his first Gunpla three years ago, and now he's improved this much. Please, everyone, give him some praise!" The fatherly love practically radiates off the screen.

Netizens were absolutely floored by a middle schooler achieving this level of quality on his fourth Gunpla. Comments poured in like: "Wait, this is only his fourth?! That's insane!" "His progress is wild, totally inherited his dad's talent!" "The quality is off the charts, he's totally surpassed his master!" "The overall finish is too good; it's seriously impressive for his age!"

According to Graham's follow-up, his son was absolutely thrilled to hear his work was getting so much love online. He'd been taking a break from Gunpla due to schoolwork, but now his passion has been reignited, saying, "Looks like it's time to get back to building!"
Just three years ago, he was a grade-schooler learning the ropes, and now he's crafting intricate Gunpla that even his dad admires. Guess having a Gunpla-loving dad around really does rub off on you – and clearly, he picked up those skills fast!
