The Pokémon Company just dropped the latest trailer for "Ultra Dimensional Surge," the first major DLC for Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, confirming its December 10th launch. The trailer didn't just tease two new Raichu variants; it also gave us our first look at even more upcoming Mega Evolutions, including Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur, sending fans into an absolute frenzy!
According to official intel, "Ultra Dimensional Surge" will plunge players into the "Dimensional Lumiose," a twisted alternate version of Lumiose City. This bizarre zone, linked by a dimensional gate opened by the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, might look like the Lumiose City we know, but it's actually a warped, alternate reality. The devs promise that in this dimension, Pokémon can temporarily shatter their usual Level 100 cap, unlocking a whole new level of battle intensity.
What's more, the trailer confirmed that Mega Baxcalibur's Evolution Stone will be distributed during the game's 4th season of online ranked battles, following the pattern of previous seasons which saw Mega Greninja, Mega Delphox, and Mega Chesnaught distributed.
At the same time, a brand-new side quest, "Radiant as a Gem," is dropping, allowing players to snag the Mega Evolution Stone for the Mythical Pokémon Diancie. And here's the kicker: this quest is available to ALL players, no DLC purchase required!
In fact, the official announcement of this DLC back in September already had fans buzzing, largely due to its $30 price tag. Bundling it with the base game would push the total cost past $100, sparking a heated debate among players about the pricing strategy. However, with the latest trailer dropping and showcasing a wealth of new content, some players are starting to change their tune, now deeming the update "worth every penny."
Beyond the DLC news, Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A also rolled out its first post-launch patch today, squashing some bugs and rebalancing the online ranked battle system. As new content continues to unfold, the devs have teased that more details are on the way, ready to unravel the full scope of the "Ultra Dimensional Surge" world for players.
