Tatsuki Fujimoto's hit manga "Chainsaw Man" made its big-screen debut with "Chainsaw Man Reze Arc," hitting theaters in Japan and Taiwan to massive success. The film has dominated the Japanese weekend box office for seven consecutive weeks, raking in an impressive 8.3 billion yen and counting.
Now, the official Japanese channels have unveiled the fifth wave of theater bonuses! Starting November 15th, moviegoers will score a special mini shikishi-style card personally drawn by original creator Tatsuki Fujimoto. The artwork? A heartwarming (and heartbreaking) scene depicting "Reze and Denji's High School Entrance Ceremony." This instantly blew up on Japanese X (formerly Twitter), leaving fans with a bittersweet taste in their mouths.
This "Reze and Denji's High School Entrance Ceremony" bonus illustration captures a youthful snapshot of Denji and Reze, side-by-side in their uniforms, ready for their high school entrance ceremony. Designed in a polaroid style, it's both adorable and tinged with a delicate sadness.
The image radiates pure happiness, fulfilling that "going to school together" fantasy every viewer of the main story secretly wished for – almost like a glimpse into a gentle, alternate universe.
As soon as this new bonus art dropped, Japanese fans were once again floored. After all, Fujimoto-sensei's second bonus was already a tear-jerker: a shikishi card showing "Reze receiving a bouquet while being hugged by Denji." Now, he's doubled down, hitting us with another "non-existent memory" that just twists the knife!
Some netizens are already speculating: if the fifth bonus is the high school entrance ceremony, could the upcoming sixth and seventh waves be university and even a wedding ceremony? (The pain is real!)
Even overseas fans are absolutely losing it! While Fujimoto's move definitely offers a "what-if" sweet ending, it fundamentally delivers another gut-punch of heartbreak to fans. It's clear Fujimoto knows exactly how to tug at those heartstrings... and then rip them out.
With seven bonus waves planned and the fifth now revealed, it looks like these special goodies will keep dropping until the end of the year. It's safe to say the "Chainsaw Man Reze Arc" bonus frenzy isn't slowing down anytime soon!
