Custom Gunpla Master Crafts "Gundam Barbatos Lupus Regulus," Unleashing a Princely New Form!

We've previously highlighted the incredible work of X user morish (@O15RXnhQL8nvfYW), the reigning champion of GBWC 2023 (11th Japan Tournament). His previous builds, like the "Gundam Dynames Physical II" & "GQuuuuuuX Sharon's Rose.Kshatriya," showcased a master craftsman's touch with their professional execution and intricate lore.

Now, morish is back with another stunning creation! Using Bandai's "HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" from *Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans* as a base, he's envisioned a brand-new form appearing years after the main story, dubbing it the "Gundam Barbatos Lupus Regulus." This fresh look, complete with its detailed backstory, is already racking up praise from fans online.

The lore places the "Gundam Barbatos Lupus Regulus" as a new Mobile Suit that suddenly appears years after the main *Iron-Blooded Orphans* narrative. Its name, Regulus (Latin for "Prince"), hints at its regal presence. This new Gundam frame operates on the advanced Alaya-Vijnana System Type-M.

Here's the deep dive: The original Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, destroyed in the series finale, had its twin reactors and control system salvaged. These were then transplanted into a brand-new Gundam frame developed by Gjallarhorn's technical division. Later, this recovered unit was secretly repaired and modified by the "Anti-Rustal Faction" within Gjallarhorn, eventually finding its way into the hands of the surviving Tekkadan members. That's the epic origin story of Regulus!

For this custom build, morish used the "HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" as the foundation. He integrated the thighs from *Iron-Blooded Orphans*' Landman Rodi to give it a more elongated, imposing silhouette. The chest comes from *Mobile Suit Gundam 00*'s Arche Gundam, the shoulders from *Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury*'s Gundam Pharact, and the gauntlets and front skirt armor are a hybrid of parts from the MG "Wing Gundam Zero EW." Talk about a mashup!

The head, based on the Gundam Barbatos Lupus, features the blade antenna transplanted from the Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, creating a seamless blend of both iconic designs.

The backpack is a powerful fusion of MG Gundam Barbatos and HG Gundam Barbatos Lupus parts, significantly enhancing its overall presence. And yes, that's the iconic Tail Blade from the Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, transplanted and mounted on its back!

The Regulus is significantly larger than its original form, a design choice that reflects its boosted power. This means heavy-hitting weapons like its massive Mace can now be wielded effortlessly with a single hand!

morish felt a large cannon would perfectly suit this Mobile Suit, so he mounted one directly onto its left arm, making it ready for any space combat scenario. It can also be equipped with a 120mm machine gun attachment at the bottom, compatible with both left and right elbows.

With the Alaya-Vijnana System Type-M providing seamless man-machine integration,
morish's lore states that the Regulus's brand-new ultra-hardened blade can cleave through an enemy Mobile Suit right down to its frame. Combined with the Tail Blade, it can unleash high-mobility close-quarters combat combos.

It's clear that morish's meticulous backstory and design make this fictional "Gundam Barbatos Lupus Regulus" feel incredibly plausible. He also mentioned that this special creation is a tribute to the 10th anniversary of *Iron-Blooded Orphans*.
