Weekly Shonen Jump has officially dropped the results for the third "Chainsaw Man" popularity poll! It's been four years since the last one in 2021, and with the "Chainsaw Man Reze Arc" movie hitting theaters during the voting period, the total votes absolutely exploded past 940,000. Talk about a massive popularity surge thanks to the big screen!
First, a quick rewind to the second poll's top five: Aki Hayakawa snagged first, Makima took second, Power was third, Denji landed fourth, and Reze rounded out the top five.
Kicking things off at number ten, we have Asa Mitaka, the only character from Part 2 to make the cut – a true standout! Pochita held strong at ninth place, while the ever-popular Hirofumi Yoshida, also a Part 2 regular, slipped a bit to eighth.
Coming in at seventh is the Shark Fiend Beam, who wasn't even in the top ten last time! Looks like the movie gave him a serious popularity boost. The Angel Devil moved up one spot to sixth, while fan-favorite Power, previously third, dropped to fifth. Guess less screen time in the movie and no appearance in Part 2 hit her a little hard, huh?
Our main man Denji held steady at fourth, with the previous poll's champion, Aki Hayakawa, taking third. And the perpetually popular Makima (Woof!) fiercely defended her second-place spot.
By now, you've probably already guessed who snatched the top spot. I mean, with the movie absolutely blowing up this year, it was practically their home game – the one character who broke everyone's hearts!
It's none other than Reze! She absolutely dominated, pulling in over 200,000 votes, which is a whopping 21.7% of the total! Leaping straight from fifth to first, it would've been a crime for Reze *not* to win this year.
To celebrate Reze's victory, creator Tatsuki Fujimoto even drew a brand-new four-panel manga! It depicts the adorable interaction between her and Denji during their night stroll at school, specifically Reze returning to the classroom after taking care of the assassin. Plus, there's a bonus panel of Reze in a swimsuit (?!).
If your faves didn't crack the top ten, you can always head over to the official ranking website for the full breakdown. With the movie's massive success, fans are hyped for a second anime season, and we're right there with you! Here's hoping for more news soon!
