Stepping behind the camera to direct is a dream for many actors, and for some, like Idris Elba, that dream is becoming a reality. The star, known for his roles in "Pacific Rim" and the "Thor" franchise, recently attended the Red Sea Film Festival with his directorial debut, the short film "Dust To Dreams." During the festival, Elba not only expressed his profound passion for directing but also revealed his potential future plans to step away from acting entirely to focus on his work behind the lens.

Elba admitted during an interview at the festival that he hopes fans who enjoy his acting won't be upset, but his ultimate goal is to transition completely into directing. He explained that while he has been acting for a long time and still loves performing, he finds that directing allows him to develop different skills and engage with the set in new ways, a feeling he truly enjoys.

Beyond his aspirations in directing, Elba also candidly admitted his limited understanding of political issues. He shared that whenever he finds himself discussing politics with public figures at events, he feels like an "impostor," struggling to contribute to conversations far beyond his expertise. This experience has fueled his desire to address this gap, expressing a hope to pursue humanities courses in the future. Elba stressed that he has no political ambitions, explaining his choice not to directly study political science by stating his belief that the fundamental core of any field, regardless of its specific domain, lies in the humanities.
