Ron Howard, who won the Academy Award for Best Director for "A Beautiful Mind," has tackled a remarkably wide range of genres throughout his career. His filmography spans fantasy movies such as "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," the racing biopic "Rush" and major franchise spinoffs including "Solo: A Star Wars Story." Now, the filmmaker may be preparing to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Prominent industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello claims Howard recently entered talks with Marvel Studios to direct a mystery project. No details about the potential movie have surfaced, but a deal would likely catch fans off guard, as Marvel Studios has rarely recruited veteran filmmakers of Howard's stature.
Meanwhile, rumors circulating in recent weeks suggest that Cannes Best Actress winner Renate Reinsve, who has expanded into Hollywood with roles in "A Different Man" and "Backrooms," is in talks to join the new "X-Men" as Professor X's longtime love interest, Moira MacTaggert. Knight Edge Media, which has a strong track record with industry scoops, recently corroborated the report but noted that Moira will have only a small role in the first movie, essentially appearing in a cameo.
