GBWC Champ Unleashes a Custom "Successor Bael" with a Long Lance for Next-Level Ranged Combat!

We've previously gushed over the incredible work of X user morish (@O15RXnhQL8nvfYW), the GBWC 2023 (11th) Japan champion. His "Gundam Dynames Physical II" and "Haman Karn's Gyan from 'GQuuuuuuX'" pieces showcased professional craftsmanship and intricate lore that truly blew us away.

Now, morish is back with his latest masterpiece! This time, he's taken Bandai's "HG 1/144 Gundam Bael" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" and given it a fresh spin. In his custom lore, this Bael is exclusively piloted by the mysterious "Madame Montauk, the revolutionary widow," who managed to reactivate the sealed mobile suit. This stunning new look, coupled with its detailed backstory, has earned rave reviews from netizens.

In the original series, McGillis Fareed famously posed as Montauk, a key figure from the old Earth merchant guild. Morish's take reimagines the Bael as a machine reclaimed and reactivated by an anti-Rustal faction. It's been reconfigured into a specialized close-range, high-mobility combat unit, primarily armed with a Charge Lance and saber.

For the Gunpla modification, morish used the Gundam Bael's main body as a foundation, blending in parts from the Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex (Sixth Form) and "The Witch from Mercury"'s Gundam Pharact. He even added a striking red cloth "cape" on the left shoulder, giving it an even more pronounced knightly aesthetic.

The Charge Lance's design takes cues from the Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City's Gae Bolg, featuring large thrusters at the rear for powerful assaults. It also cleverly hides a machine gun underneath, significantly boosting its long-range combat capabilities.

Meanwhile, the Gundam Bael's original Bael Swords have been reimagined. Unlike McGillis's version, these are slender, rapier-style blades, making them easier to wield. A ramming spike has also been added to the pommel, allowing for an elegant and fluid combat style that feels like dancing through the air.

This build was conceived as a "modified successor to the Gundam Bael." When envisioning the pilot, morish felt that a female character best embodied the spirit of McGillis Fareed, leading him to intentionally sculpt the mobile suit's overall silhouette with more feminine lines.

Morish's meticulous background and intricate settings truly bring this hypothetical "modified successor to the Gundam Bael" to life, making it feel incredibly plausible. He also shared that this special creation is a celebration of "Iron-Blooded Orphans'" 10th anniversary.
