Popular voice actress and VTuber (Kumano Beatrice), Kotori Koiwai, finally completed her "HG Gundam GP03 Dendrobium" build on her personal YouTube stream this past New Year's Day! This monumental Gunpla project spanned two years and four lengthy "endurance" streams with her audience. As a Gunpla novice, her completion of this gigantic kit has earned her a flood of encouragement and praise from fans.
Any seasoned Gunpla enthusiast knows the "HG Gundam GP03 Dendrobium" is no ordinary kit. Despite being 1/144 scale, its box alone weighs over seven kilograms, packed with numerous massive components. Once assembled, it stretches nearly 100 centimeters long, with the model itself weighing approximately 4.5 kilograms. It's truly a magnificent centerpiece that demands significant space in any home!
Koiwai Kotori's journey with this kit actually began as a New Year's Day 2024 endurance stream project. However, the initial stream was unfortunately interrupted by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, causing a complete halt to her progress. Given the GP03's incredibly time-consuming assembly and her status as a Gunpla beginner, it took her four separate streams over two full years to finally finish it.
But she didn't give up! Two years after her very first stream, she triumphantly completed the over 1-meter-long "HG Gundam GP03 Dendrobium" this New Year's Day. She even encouraged herself to become a "massive" person, just like the Dendrobium! She pledged to keep striving in 2026!
Of course, given Kotori Koiwai's rather impressive figure, some fans playfully quipped, "You're already massive!" or "Can't tell what's more massive, the Gundam or..." These lighthearted jokes are all part of the fun interaction she shares with her fanbase, sparking plenty of laughter.
▼ The completion even became a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter)... LOL.
For a Gunpla beginner, Kotori Koiwai's dedication to building this GP03 with her fans during her busy work schedule is truly commendable, especially with four streams and the unexpected Noto Peninsula Earthquake in between.
For those who love her work, be sure to check out her New Year's Day completion stream!
