Two months ago, then-U.S. President Donald J. Trump, a self-proclaimed fan of the franchise, was reportedly actively pushing for a fourth "Rush Hour" film. He urged Paramount's Skydance Media CEO David Ellison, with whom he has close ties, to acquire the "Rush Hour" franchise rights from Warner Bros. Now, it appears President Trump's wish is close to becoming a reality, with funding nearly secured and a production window identified.

According to a recent report from Puck News, agreements for the production of "Rush Hour 4" are nearing finalization. Paramount's Skydance Media has reportedly guaranteed a release in 4,000 theaters across the United States. With a budget of $100 million already secured, filming is expected to commence this summer. Planned filming locations include China, Africa (where the plot will reportedly involve local poaching issues), and Saudi Arabia. However, the two lead stars, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, have not yet officially signed on to return. This is largely considered a formality, as both actors have expressed their willingness to reprise their roles over the years.
