"GTA VI" Pre-Load Requires Up to 212GB — Rockstar Confirms Download Times, Leonida Map and Poster

Rockstar Games has announced pre-load details for "Grand Theft Auto VI," confirming that the game will require up to 212GB of storage, depending on the device. Given the massive file size, players are advised to check their console's available storage ahead of time to avoid download delays on launch day.

According to Rockstar, digital pre-loading on PlayStation 5 will begin at midnight local time on November 10, 2026. Xbox Series X|S pre-loading will launch worldwide at 12 a.m. GMT that same day.

That means PlayStation 5 players can begin downloading at midnight in their respective time zones, while Xbox Series X|S owners will follow the single global start time. Rockstar has not revealed separate download sizes for each console, with 212GB representing the maximum file size.

"GTA VI" launches worldwide for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, unlocking at midnight local time on both platforms. Rockstar also said boxed versions containing a digital download code are expected to arrive at retailers beginning November 12. Unlike a traditional physical edition, however, no game disc will be included, and buyers will still need to download the full game.

Rockstar will also release a free printable cover-art poster and a map of Leonida through the game's official website on November 19, giving fans the chance to create their own physical collectibles.

A double-sided physical version will be sold through the Rockstar Store shortly after launch for $0.99. Customers who purchase any item from the Rockstar Store will also receive one for free, though exact availability details have yet to be announced.
