Mark Ruffalo Addresses MCU Firing Rumors: Actor Emphasizes Continued Marvel Collaboration, Hulk's Future Sparks Fan Interest

Mark Ruffalo recently addressed widespread rumors claiming he had been "fired" from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, asserting that he had received no such notification and currently maintains a strong working relationship with Marvel. His response aims to temper recent speculation regarding the Hulk's future within the franchise.

Since 2012's "The Avengers," Ruffalo took over the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk from Edward Norton, becoming one of the MCU's most iconic characters. His less frequent appearances in live-action films in recent years, coupled with undisclosed future plans for the character, fueled online rumors of his potential replacement.

While promoting his new film "Crime 101" in an interview with The News Movement, Ruffalo directly confronted the rumors. He stated, "Not that I know of. People keep going like, 'Did you get fired?' Not that I know of!" He further added that he would "always be there" as long as Marvel still needed him.

Fellow actors Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry, who were also present for the interview, publicly supported Ruffalo, dismissing the related rumors as "absolute nonsense." They jokingly added that if the rumors were true, they would "protest." Ruffalo, speaking cautiously, hinted, "Maybe I'm already doing some things... I'm still here, let me just say that."

In fact, Ruffalo is confirmed to return to the MCU this summer in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." However, his involvement in the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday" or "Avengers: Secret Wars" has not yet been officially confirmed. Industry analysts suggest that if he were truly replaced, it would undoubtedly be major news for trade media, thus lending limited credibility to the current rumors.

As the MCU transitions into its new phase, whether Hulk, an original Avenger, will continue to be involved in core storylines remains a key focus for audiences.
