PREMICO, the Japanese brand renowned for blending high-end timepieces and premium goods with beloved anime and game franchises, has a knack for dropping irresistible collectibles that always hit fans right in the feels (and wallets).
Now, they're teaming up with the iconic Monster Hunter series for its 20th anniversary, unveiling the stunning "Monster Hunter Wilds Aizu Lacquerware Music Box." This exquisite piece combines the game's epic world with Japan's revered traditional "Aizu Lacquerware" craftsmanship. Priced at 71,280 JPY and limited to just 1,000 units worldwide, it's available for pre-order now on PREMICO's Japanese website.
Aizu Lacquerware (会津塗) hails from Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. It's a designated traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, often gracing traditional Japanese dining sets and sake vessels. This isn't just any craft; it's a precious artistic legacy deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
The box lid itself is a masterpiece, featuring the series' iconic monsters, Rathalos and Rathian, rendered in breathtaking gold maki-e. These two majestic dragons majestically emerge from the glossy black lacquer, radiating pure opulence. The Monster Hunter Wilds emblem adds a subtle touch, while the "Forbidden Land Survey Team" emblem gleams in gold on the front.
Open it up, and the inner lid reveals a mirrored surface adorned with the logo and a Rathalos motif. The interior is lined with a fiery red velvet, perfect for stashing your precious accessories or small collectibles.
But the real magic lies within: a built-in 23-note comb music movement plays the series' legendary theme, "Proof of a Hero." This isn't just any rendition; it's a specially arranged version for this product, boasting a wider range and richer tone. The mechanism itself is semi-transparent, letting you peek at the rotating cylinder, with the Forbidden Land Survey Team emblem elegantly printed on the acrylic window.
Each music box is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans, making each of the 1,000 units a truly unique treasure. It comes complete with a special hot-stamped logo outer box and a numbered certificate of authenticity, ensuring its status as a top-tier collector's item.
