The second season of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" wrapped up to critical acclaim, successfully carrying on the first season's incredible production quality. With a third season already confirmed for an October 2027 premiere, the hype is real.
To mark the end of Season 2, the official "Third Character Popularity Poll" was held in March, and the results, announced on March 30, have sent shockwaves through the fandom. The rankings are completely unexpected, so let's dive in.
Let's start with the top ten:
▼ 10th Place: The Purchased Skull
Well... it seems the Mimic has been officially replaced as the series' top gag item. This is the ultimate symbol of Frieren's impulse-buying addiction.
▼ 9th Place: One of the demons from the Northern Plateau assault
Her epic showdown with Methode in Season 2, combined with that killer eyepatch, clearly won over a ton of fans.
▼ 8th Place: Fern
In a shocking twist, Fern, who has almost always been a top-three contender, has plummeted to eighth place. Ouch.
▼ 7th Place: Stark
Our boy Stark is holding his ground, maintaining a stable rank from previous polls. No forward momentum, but hey, consistency is key.
▼ 6th Place: Serie
Serie skyrocketed into sixth place. It seems all that extra screen time in Season 2 paid off big time!
▼ 5th Place: Macht
Macht of El Dorado, the top demon representative who consistently lands in the top ten, maintains his high popularity.
▼ 4th Place: Frieren
What?! The protagonist herself has dropped to fourth place! Fans are stunned that grandma couldn't even secure a podium finish.
▼ 3rd Place: Aura
Despite "Aura the Guillotine" having very limited screen time in both the manga and the anime (where she was just a passing boss in Season 1), she continues to captivate fans. Holding onto a top-three spot is a massive win, making her the pride of the demon race.
▼ 2nd Place: Himmel
In a major upset, the hero Himmel has been knocked from the top spot. So, who was powerful enough to dethrone the reigning champion?
▼ 1st Place: Genau
The new champion is none other than Genau! Thanks to his incredible combat scenes and deep character development during the Northern Plateau arc in Season 2, he came out of nowhere to claim the crown.
All we can say is, this poll's results were a wild ride. The rankings have been completely shaken up, which probably goes to show just how much of an impact Season 2 had on shifting fan allegiances.
