The "Rush Hour" franchise, dormant for years, saw a sudden resurgence last year when then-President Donald J. Trump, a self-proclaimed fan, reportedly pushed for a fourth installment. This momentum led to active development and plans for a summer shoot this year. However, as the saying goes, plans change, and "Rush Hour 4" has hit another roadblock.

According to a recent report from Puck News, "Rush Hour 4" has faced a significant setback. Stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have reportedly rejected the proposed $8 million salary offers. Compounding the issue, the film's hefty $120 million budget remains largely unfunded. Consequently, the planned summer shoot, which included locations in China, Africa, and Saudi Arabia, has been pushed back to at least September.

Chan and Tucker's refusal is understandable; both actors reportedly earned around $20 million each for "Rush Hour 3." Their dissatisfaction with a significant pay cut has led to their reluctance to sign on for the sequel. Furthermore, a substantial portion of "Rush Hour 4"'s previously secured funding originated from the Middle East. The ongoing instability in the region is now believed to be indirectly impacting the film's financial pipeline.
