Fable Reboot Confirmed for February 2027 Release; MCU's Hayley Atwell Cast as Villain Isabella

At its latest showcase, Xbox dropped a new trailer for the "Fable" reboot, officially locking in a February 23, 2027, release date. This marks the first concrete launch day revealed since the game's initial delay to 2027, strategically placing it to sidestep potential market clashes with other major releases like "GTA 6."

The new trailer also revealed that Marvel star Hayley Atwell, known for her role as Agent Carter, will join the cast as the game's antagonist, Isabella. In the footage, Atwell's Isabella declares herself the only hero Albion truly needs, radiating both fierce confidence and a palpable sense of danger. Furthermore, the trailer subtly teases the return of "Fable"'s iconic original villain, Jack of Blades, confirming the reboot's ties to the franchise's rich lore.

Discussing Isabella, "Fable" Associate Narrative Director Craig Owens described her as a "purpose-driven, powerful hero" on a quest to rectify a tragic injustice. He explained that Isabella, fueled by grief, channels her pain into unwavering determination and focus, setting her against the hero of Brightlodge and her former guardian, Humphrey. Owens characterized her as a formidable and perilous foe, convinced she is not only acting righteously but also capable of mending any damage inflicted during her journey.

Beyond the release date and villain details, the developers also unveiled the game's inaugural story expansion, "Fable: Order of the Hero." This DLC is slated to arrive post-launch, inviting players to delve into the secrets of a dark, ancient cult hidden deep within Albion, complete with new areas and narrative threads.

"Fable: Order of the Hero" will be bundled with both the "Fable" Premium and Collector's Editions. The Collector's Edition further sweetens the deal with a host of physical goodies, including a "Jack of Blades" statue, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a collectible pin. With a firm release date now set, this highly anticipated reboot is officially on the countdown to launch.
