BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division has announced the latest addition to its popular "S.H.Figuarts" action figure line. Following the release of Ultraman Zeas, the new "Ultraman Shadow & Ultraman Zeas Option Parts Set", inspired by the movie "Ultraman Zeas 2: The Great Battle of Ultraman - Light and Shadow", is slated for release in December 2026.
After the previous antagonist, Alien Benzen, was defeated by Ultraman Zeas, his wife, the "Seductive Cosmic Queen Lady Benzen", sought revenge. Utilizing a supercomputer for analysis, she ultimately created the formidable combat robot Ultraman Shadow, boasting even greater abilities. Shadow's appearance and physique closely resemble Zeas, and in addition to powerful beam and martial arts techniques, he can also emit brainwashing rays from his eyes. Unlike Zeas, Shadow has no transformation time limit, making him Zeas's most powerful adversary in the film. However, being a machine, Shadow possesses a weakness: severe damage can temporarily halt his functions, requiring a separate restart ray to reactivate him.
The "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Shadow & Ultraman Zeas Option Parts Set" includes the Ultraman Shadow figure itself, various attack effect parts, and multiple accessories designed to interact with the separately sold "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Zeas." With the assistance of Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department, the S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Shadow faithfully recreates the distinct yet evil design from the film. This was achieved by using 3D scanning technology to convert the original prototype, crafted by costume designer Minoru Narita, into a digital model.
The S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Shadow also inherits Zeas's articulation design, featuring seamless movable joints and precise articulation splits throughout its body. Pull-out joints in the shoulders, hips, and other areas allow for dynamic battle poses. The set further includes effect parts to recreate the "Shadow Lim Ray" and "Shadow Knuckle Punch," along with a replacement "Color Timer" part depicting its red light state.
Furthermore, the set includes accessories compatible with the "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Zeas," such as a "damaged head replacement part" to depict his eyes glowing red after a heavy impact. It also features effect parts for the "Cross Speshushura Ray" finisher, an open-mouth screaming head replacement part, and beam clash effect parts, all designed to recreate the climactic final battle scene against Shadow from the movie.
