PLEX is expanding its Great Saurus lineup of 1970s Popy Soft Vinyl revivals with a new Ultraman release. The Ultraman Screen-Accurate Color Version is priced at 19,580 yen, with preorders now open through Premium Bandai in Japan ahead of its scheduled November 2026 release!
Originally launched by Popy in the 1970s before the company was acquired by Bandai, the Great Saurus line is remembered for its distinctive squat proportions and signature footprint patterns sculpted into the soles. PLEX officially kicked off its revival project in 2024 and has since brought back an array of nostalgic favorites.
Standing approximately 31 centimeters tall, the Ultraman Screen-Accurate Color Version uses the same sculpt as the edition released in March 2026. Based on the original vintage design, the figure was recreated with a newly developed mold produced using 3D scanning technology. Vibrant red vinyl is paired with a soft silver finish across the body, while understated metallic paint on the eyes, Color Timer, and other details gives the figure a cohesive look inspired by Ultraman’s classic on-screen appearance. The molded Popy logo appears on the back, while the soles retain the iconic footprint detailing synonymous with Great Saurus, faithfully capturing the charm of the original toy.
