Japanese plush and capsule toy brand AMUSE (AMUFUN) is once again testing the limits of public display with their latest capsule toy release, the "Tan Tan Tanuki Kinshaku"! This time, they've taken the tanuki's "unmistakable feature" and transformed it into a practical drawstring pouch. The full lineup includes 4 different designs, each approximately 13 cm in size. Each capsule will retail for 400 JPY (tax included), with an anticipated release in November 2026.

The product name is a clever pun, combining a familiar Japanese tanuki folk song with "kinchaku" (巾着, drawstring pouch). The official marketing even encourages collectors to "let it swing, even without the wind" – a playful nod to the tanuki's iconic anatomy. The pouch itself is shaped like the tanuki's most representative lower body feature. When the drawstring is tightened, it can hold coins or small personal items. Each pouch also comes with an acrylic charm featuring the tanuki's face, ensuring that anyone who sees this swinging from your bag will instantly recognize what it is.

This lineup features four distinct styles: the adorable, youthful "Bebi" (Baby), the classic "Tanuki" design, the peacefully sleeping "Suya~n," and the "Yakimono" (Pottery) style, which evokes traditional tanuki figurines. The "Yakimono" variant, in particular, pays homage to the iconic Shigaraki ware tanuki. Traditionally, the tanuki's "money bag" (金袋) is also a symbol of good fortune and financial prosperity, making it surprisingly fitting as a coin purse. Further details on the exact release date and international availability will be announced at a later time.
