TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced the latest addition to its "GUNDAM UNIVERSE" series—a 6-inch articulated figure line designed for "Mobile Suit Gundam" fans worldwide. The "Strike Freedom Gundam" from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY" is slated for a December 2026 release.
The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam is the mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY." Equipped with the Hyper Deuterion Engine, which generates immense energy, it boasts a formidable arsenal of high-output beam weapons, including High-Energy Beam Rifles, "Xiphias 3" Railguns, and "Super Lacerta" Beam Sabers. Its back-mounted "Super DRAGOON" Mobile Weapon Wing system, combined with Kira's Super Coordinator abilities, allows it to simultaneously lock onto numerous enemy units and unleash an all-directional attack using its eight "Beam Assault Cannons."
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Strike Freedom Gundam" utilizes the new "UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME" articulated inner frame, which has been fully revamped since 2025. This new frame significantly enhances the range of motion compared to previous entries in the series, allowing for more dynamic and powerful battle poses. The entire figure has been extensively redesigned and refreshed compared to the older "Strike Freedom Gundam" released in 2023, showcasing a more refined and sharp aesthetic for its armor and weaponry.
Weapon accessories include two High-Energy Beam Rifles, two Beam Sabers, and multiple interchangeable hand parts. The waist-mounted "Xiphias 3" Railguns also feature a deployment mechanism, allowing collectors to recreate dynamic dual-wielding gun poses and two-sword combat stances. However, the figure still does not include a connecting mechanism for the two beam rifles or beam sabers, nor a detachable feature for the eight back-mounted "Beam Assault Cannons."
