Japanese model company Kaiyodo has officially unveiled a new product in its "ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS" plastic assembly model kit series: the "Gamera (1999) Re:Imagination" assembly model kit, based on the film "Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris." It will retail for 9,900 JPY and is slated for release in October 2026!
The "Gamera (1999) Re:Imagination" stands approximately 16.5 cm tall upon completion. Master sculptor Shinobu Matsumura, a leading expert in natural history and biological modeling, personally crafted the prototype. His overwhelming sculpting prowess reinterprets the precise moment Gamera is about to deliver a devastating blow to Iris! The prototype meticulously showcases the folds and undulations of Gamera's muscles, with every granule and texture of its skin exquisitely reproduced. The carapace features individually designed, overlapping armor-like parts, perfectly capturing Gamera's raw power with an incredibly realistic sculpt!
The plasma fireball effect for Gamera's mouth can be optionally equipped, offering diverse display possibilities. The diorama base meticulously recreates the shattered remnants of Shibuya's towering buildings, perfectly emphasizing the monster's colossal scale. Below, a destroyed bridge and train are also depicted, inviting hobbyists to focus on painting these scene details to enhance the immersive feeling of an intense battle!
