TAKARA TOMY ARTS' Panda's Ana Line Debuts "Art Can" Capsule Toys, Sealing Five Masterpieces in Miniature!

TAKARA TOMY ARTS' popular capsule toy brand, "Panda's Ana," is launching an intriguing new series called "Art Can." This collection reimagines five iconic masterpieces from art history as three-dimensional models, cleverly contained within circular cans. The full lineup includes "Mona Lisa," "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji," "The Gleaners," "The Birth of Venus," and "The Scream." Each capsule toy will retail for 500 JPY (tax included) and is slated for release in August 2026.

These aren't just scaled-down reproductions of the paintings. Instead, each piece captures the most recognizable figures, poses, and backgrounds, then re-composes them to fit within the can's unique dimensions. Characters originally confined to a flat canvas now appear perfectly sealed inside a can, creating a distinctive collectible that blurs the line between fine art and playful toy.

"Mona Lisa" retains the subject's classic seated posture with hands clasped, her familiar enigmatic smile condensed into a palm-sized form.

For "The Scream," the figure emerges halfway from the can, maintaining its iconic pose with hands pressed against its cheeks. This adds a touch of absurd, charming contrast to the original painting's intense anxiety.

"The Birth of Venus" faithfully recreates Venus standing on a colossal seashell, with both the figure and shell ingeniously contained within the slender can.

"The Gleaners" arranges the three peasant women bending to pick wheat in sequence, preserving the original's rustic scene through varied body angles and positions.

"Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" draws inspiration from the series' most iconic piece, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa." Here, a colossal, surging wave envelops the can, with its crest even breaking beyond the cylindrical outline and extending outwards. A miniature Mount Fuji is visible in the distance. Unlike the other figure-centric designs, this one emphasizes the overall scene and the dynamic feel of the three-dimensional wave.

Each of the five pieces responds to the original artwork's characteristics in a unique way: some focus on facial expressions, others recreate classic poses, and some even transform background landscapes into three-dimensional structures. By utilizing the everyday "can" as a vessel, these once-distant world-famous paintings become engaging collectibles that can be admired up close. Whether you're an art connoisseur or simply a fan of creative capsule toys, this series offers diverse enjoyment. When all five are displayed together, it's like having a miniature art museum condensed into your display case, bringing classic art into daily life in a more relaxed and humorous way.
