Japan's TAKARA TOMY A.R.T.S is immortalizing the "Body Brothers," a popular segment from Nippon TV's morning variety show "Shuichi," with a brand-new capsule toy release: the "Body Brothers BIG BODY♨ Collection"! This series features Ryuji Akiyama as "Ryu" and Yuki Hirako as "Yu," available as both large-scale figures and framed keychains. The lineup includes a total of 4 different items, priced at 500 yen per try, and is scheduled to roll out across Japan starting in late July 2026.
The "Body Brothers" are a popular duo from the show, featuring Ryuji Akiyama of the comedy trio Robert and Yuki Hirako of Alco & Peace. As their characters "Ryu" and "Yu," they visit bathhouses, hot springs, and various aquatic locations, proudly showcasing their impressive, full-bodied physiques in their signature towel-only attire, making it a fan-favorite recurring segment on "Shuichi."
The new BIG Figures stand approximately 73-88 mm tall and come as assembly-style kits, capturing the pair's classic muscle-flexing poses while wrapped in their "Body Brothers" towels. The sculpts don't just meticulously recreate the fleshy build of their abdomens, arms, and chests; the contours of their backs and buttocks are also fully rendered, allowing fans to appreciate their robust figures from every angle. With the included ball chain, they can also be carried around as seriously high-impact charms.
The other item type, the "Framed Keychain," is designed with the aesthetic of commemorative portraits for sumo wrestling champions. It features a semi-3D illustration of the duo hanging below a wood-grain frame. The character portion uses UV printing to create a raised, textured feel, while the back is stamped with the bold Japanese characters for "Physique" (體格), perfectly preserving the over-the-top, dazzling presence they command on the show.
