The emerging Chinese mecha brand, Iron Romance Workshop, has announced the latest addition to its "Super Robot Legend" series: "Gunbuster" from the classic sci-fi anime "Aim for the Top! Gunbuster". This highly anticipated release is slated for 2027!
"Gunbuster" is the colossal anti-space monster ultimate weapon developed by Koichiro Ota, known as "Coach" in the series. Standing at an imposing 250 meters tall, it is formed by the combination of two spacecraft and piloted by Noriko Takaya and Kazumi Amano. Possessing overwhelming destructive power, Gunbuster unleashes devastating attacks on its foes, powered by its two onboard Buster Cores and an arsenal of numerous weapons. Its signature finishing move is the Super Inazuma Kick!
Standing approximately 26cm tall, the "Super Robot Legend Gunbuster" is a fully transformable and combinable model kit. Its key feature is the ability to perfectly recreate both Gunbuster and its two spacecraft modes without any parts swapping or leftover components, all while maintaining excellent articulation. Collectors can achieve waist rotation and bending, enabling iconic poses like its signature crossed-arm stance and the dynamic Super Inazuma Kick. A gray prototype was previously showcased at the recent Wonder Festival 2026 (WF2026), revealing that interchangeable parts will allow for the recreation of the classic scene from the final battle where the Buster Cores are removed from its chest. The figure will also come equipped with its formidable weapons, the "Buster Collider" and "Buster Tomahawk."
