Good Smile Company, a Japanese manufacturer, has launched a new figure in its "Mini Memory" series, designed around the concept of "keeping cherished memories close." The latest addition is the "Akane Sakurazaki: First Performance Ver." from the popular anime "Akane-banashi," slated for release in January 2027!

"Akane-banashi," a standout in the April 2026 anime season, garnered significant attention for its exceptional animation quality and powerful voice acting. The series follows Akane Sakurazaki, the daughter of a Rakugo performer, who refuses to accept her father's expulsion from his master's school during his shin'uchi promotion test. For six years, she dedicates herself to studying Rakugo, determined to become a shin'uchi herself to prove her father's dream was valid and to uncover the truth behind his dismissal by the Rakugo master, Issho Arakawa. The anime features veteran singer-songwriter Keisuke Kuwata performing both the opening and ending themes. Notably, the lead voice actors underwent over six months of intensive Rakugo training prior to production, solidifying its status as one of the season's dark horse hits.

The "Mini Memory Akane Sakurazaki: First Performance Ver." captures Akane's debut stage performance in an adorable chibi style. It perfectly recreates her bold and confident expression, from her simple kimono and the cushion beneath her to the "Akane" nameplate placed to her left, all faithfully rendered in the charming Q-style. Standing at a compact 8 cm tall, this figure perfectly embodies the series' core concept of "keeping cherished memories close," making it an ideal display piece for both home and office desks.
