Bandai Toy Company's GASHAPON capsule toy brand, known for its "Mobile Suit Gundam"-themed "MS MECHANICAL BUST" series, has announced the latest tenth entry: the "Destiny Gundam," slated for release in December 2026.
The ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam was the latest mobile suit developed under the directive of P.L.A.N.T. Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Durandal, prior to ZAFT's decisive battle with the Earth Alliance. It served as the successor mobile suit for ZAFT pilot Shinn Asuka. Developed based on the Impulse Gundam's design, the Destiny Gundam integrated the capabilities of the Force, Blast, and Sword Silhouette packs into a single unit. It also utilized technologies prohibited by the Junius Treaty, such as the Hyper Deuterion Engine and Mirage Colloid. This allowed it to deploy "Wings of Light" for extreme acceleration and scatter Mirage Colloid particles to create afterimages, giving it performance far superior to second-generation mobile suits like the Impulse Gundam.
This product is an updated version based on the previous "Destiny Gundam Spec II." It features precise part separation and sharp, intricate detailing, resulting in a striking bust model approximately 9.5 cm tall. The cameras, sensors, antennas, chin, and various armor parts are all rendered in their respective molded colors. The color scheme has been re-adjusted to feature the higher-saturation palette from before the mobile suit's modification. Additionally, grayscale armor parts are included to replicate the "VPS Armor Unactivated State."
There are three types available to collect: "Destiny Gundam Outer Armor (Color Ver.)," "Destiny Gundam Outer Armor (Unactivated Ver.)," and "Internal Frame (with LED Light Unit)." Continuing the series' characteristic, any outer armor part can be combined with the frame part to assemble a complete bust model. When the LED light unit built into the frame is switched on, the clear parts in the head and chest will illuminate.
