BANDAI SPIRITS' collector toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, is expanding its popular "S.H.Figuarts" action figure series with a brand new release from the anime "Ghost in the Shell THE GHOST IN THE SHELL": Motoko Kusanagi. This figure is slated for release in January 2027, alongside the previously announced "ROBOT SPIRITS
"Ghost in the Shell THE GHOST IN THE SHELL" is a new anime production by Science SARU, adapting the eponymous manga created by artist Masamune Shirow in 1989. The series faithfully recreates the original manga's art style, telling a sci-fi story set in the near future. The protagonist, cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, leads Public Security Section 9—known as the "Ghost in the Shell"—to combat political, economic, cybercrime, and terrorist attacks. However, during one incident, they encounter an enigmatic hacker known as the "Puppet Master," setting a sinister conspiracy into motion!
The "S.H.Figuarts Motoko Kusanagi" faithfully recreates her anime design, bringing to life the lively Major as envisioned by Masamune Shirow. Her form-fitting combat suit, combined with the S.H.Figuarts series' renowned articulation, allows for a wide range of dynamic poses. The intricate folds and creases in her clothing are also meticulously reproduced. The figure comes with four pairs of interchangeable hands and four interchangeable face plates to capture Motoko's various expressions, along with a bangs part featuring goggles. For weaponry, she includes her classic "SebloM5" and "Ceblo C-25", which can be displayed in their holsters using the interchangeable holster parts!
