The reveal of Sadie Sink as Jean Grey in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has ignited massive discussion among fans worldwide. What's more, her character's costume in "Stranger Things" surprisingly created an unexpected cross-franchise connection.
Sadie Sink first appeared in the second season of "Stranger Things," which premiered in 2017, portraying Max Mayfield. Her debut outfit—a blue jacket, red top, and jeans—bears a striking resemblance to the attire worn by a young Jean Grey in the 2008 comic "X-Men Origins: Jean Grey" when her powers first manifested.
This one-shot comic, written by Sean McKeever and illustrated by Mike Mayhew, re-tells Jean Grey's early life. The story depicts her telepathic abilities suddenly awakening after her friend Annie is involved in a car accident, forcing Jean to experience the pain of Annie's death. She later learned to control her powers with the help of Professor X, gradually becoming one of the founding members of the X-Men.
