Zach Lipovsky (pictured left) and Adam B. Stein (pictured right), the directing duo behind "Final Destination 6: Bloodlines," are currently among Hollywood's most sought-after talents. Following the massive box office success and strong fan reception for "Bloodlines," the pair has been consistently signing on to direct numerous major commercial features. In the first half of this year alone, the duo has taken the helm for the live-action "Metal Gear Solid" film and the "Venom" animated movie, while also actively writing the script for "Gremlins 3."

However, Lipovsky and Stein's development slate doesn't stop there. Renowned entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider exclusively reported today on his paid blog, The InSneider, that the duo has also signed on to direct a new film adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Desperation." The book was previously adapted into a television movie in 2006, but this new iteration is being developed as a theatrical feature aimed at the global big screen market.

The new "Desperation" film will be produced by Ghost House Pictures, the company founded by "Spider-Man" trilogy director Sam Raimi, who will also serve as a producer on the project. "Desperation" tells the story of a group of travelers stranded in a remote desert town where an ancient evil force awakens. They are forced to fight for survival against a brutal, bloodthirsty, demon-possessed police officer who transforms routine arrests into a series of deadly battles.
