T-SPARK, the high-end toy brand from Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, has officially revealed the second installment in its "SYNERGENEX" transforming toy series. Known for its dream collaborations with popular IPs, this new crossover features the "Evangelion Prime Unit-02" from the "Transformers" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion" franchises. The figure is priced at 11,000 JPY (tax included) and is slated for release in late March 2027.
In its in-universe lore, "Evangelion Prime Unit-02" is the form taken by the next-generation Autobot leader, Rodimus Prime, after he scanned Evangelion Unit-02. This dream collaboration product seamlessly fuses the distinctive elements of both iconic machines. The base body utilizes the same mold as the first collaboration, "Evangelion Prime Unit-01," but features Rodimus Prime's personalized armor styling on the chest. This figure can transform freely between its robot and truck vehicle modes and boasts articulated joints for dynamic posing.
Like the first release, this "Evangelion Prime Unit-02" features a built-in head gimmick to achieve Unit-02's distinctive six-eyed appearance. Befitting its status as a Prime, it also includes the Matrix of Leadership. The weapon arsenal included with this second release is even more extensive than the first. It features two "Photon Pallet Rifles," which combine signature weapons from both franchises, the iconic "Spear of Longinus," and an "Anti-Material Saw Blade" that can be mounted on the hands or combined with the Spear's shaft. These weapons can be wielded for various cool poses or attached to the figure's back via connector parts!
