The first theatrical anime feature from Chiikawa, Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island, opened in theaters on July 24 and has already cleared the ¥10 billion box-office milestone, with its success still going strong.
On the 6th, Japanese commercial karaoke service JOYSOUND announced that two versions of the much-talked-about “Usagi Rap”, featured on the Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island original soundtrack, are now available to sing at karaoke.

The newly available tracks are:
〈Usagi Rap (Solo Ver.)〉
〈Usagi Rap (Rhythmically Inclined Ones Ver.)〉
Chiikawa fans can now take on one of the film’s most distinctive songs at karaoke. JOYSOUND had previously announced in August that four more songs—〈Kutsuzure〉, 〈Shima no Uta〉, 〈Shima no Uta (Siren Ver.)〉, and 〈Tsukue Sasuru〉—would be released in stages. With the two newly added versions of “Usagi Rap,” six songs from the movie are currently available to sing.
The announcement quickly drew a big reaction on X, where users left a stream of excited comments:
“No way, seriously? lol,” “The performer credit being ‘Usagi, Momonga, Mermaid’ cracks me up,” and “Finally! I can sing it at last…”

Others chimed in while imitating Siren: “Stop singing weird songs!!”

Another X user joked, “Does this mean ‘Uraa(?)’ will have lyrics on screen…?”

Judging from the comments, fans are looking forward to more than simply finding out whether they can sing it. They also want to see just how many people can make it through Usagi’s explosive, lightning-fast, and delightfully chaotic rap from start to finish.
With “Usagi Rap” officially joining the karaoke lineup, fans will likely be sharing plenty of challenge videos—and plenty of funny attempts—in the days ahead.
