Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the latest product in its fantasy and sci-fi-infused Bishoujo model kit series, "Arcanadea," with the "GRANDE SCALE Lumitea ReACT-A" slated for release in February 2027.
Designed by illustrator necömi, the original "Lumitea" is a light-attribute angelic DEARS, typically known for her gentle, kind, optimistic, and cheerful demeanor. When encountering things she loves, her speech quickens, revealing a shy side. The "ReACT-A" version, released under the guise of an attribute change, transforms her into a dark-attribute alternate color scheme. Not only do her pure white attire and wings become jet black, but her personality also seems to take on a slightly more assertive edge.
The "GRANDE SCALE" series re-engineers Kotobukiya's past model kit CAD data into larger-scale products. Enlarging each part not only allows for clearer detail but also reduces the difficulty of assembly, painting, and customization. Furthermore, these kits are compatible with larger mecha and armaments from other Kotobukiya series for cross-kit customization. This new "Lumitea ReACT-A" is a modified version of the previously released standard kit, scaling up from its original height of approximately 16 cm to a substantial 25 cm, offering a more satisfying presence.
The kit includes four pre-painted face parts, five pairs of different PVC hand parts, and a dedicated pair of hands for prayer poses. Additionally, water-slide decals featuring various eye and mouth designs are provided for custom expressions. The base body can freely switch between "Normal Mode" and "Battle Mode" (also referred to as "Wilize Mode" in some descriptions) by attaching and detaching the full body armor parts. With articulated joints throughout the body and massive wings, along with weapon accessories like a sword and scabbard, collectors can recreate adorable everyday poses or dynamic, cool battle scenes.
Several parts have also seen design improvements. The front hair part now uses a single-piece design to eliminate seam lines. The decorative elements in the center of the Oath Ring on her back are color-separated through clever part division. The pupil designs for the three expression parts have been refreshed. The elbow joints have been upgraded to a double-joint design. The knee joint structure in Normal Mode has been revamped for more natural posing, utilizing pop-out joints that are not visible from the front when standing, maintaining the leg's shape and providing a wide range of motion. The small wings now connect with slightly enlarged ball joints and include additional magic circle parts. Furthermore, new waist decorative parts have been added to allow for sitting poses, resulting in significant advancements in both sculpt and articulation.
Compared to the previous "GRANDE SCALE Lumitea," the calf parts in Normal Mode have been changed from left-right separation to front-back separation, making seam lines less noticeable. The hip joints have also been further improved in structure, and an additional set of hip joint parts specifically for "GRANDE SCALE Lumitea" is included.
