Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, under its immensely popular "Ichiban Kuji" (literally "Number One Lottery") series, where every ticket wins a prize, is set to release a new product line based on Pixar's classic animated feature, "Monsters, Inc.". Titled "Ichiban Kuji Monsters, Inc.", tickets will retail for 750 JPY each, with the lottery scheduled to kick off on October 17, 2026.
"Monsters, Inc." is Pixar Animation Studios' fourth feature film, originally released in 2001 and directed by Pete Docter. The movie was groundbreaking for its 3D animation technology, which meticulously rendered hair textures, and it brilliantly subverted common fears about monsters. Upon its release, it not only grossed over $570 million worldwide but also earned an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
The upcoming "Ichiban Kuji Monsters, Inc." will offer a variety of themed prizes across different tiers, all centered around the beloved film. The official website has just unveiled a first look at the yet-to-be-named Prize A character figure. This highly anticipated piece brings to life an iconic scene from the movie, featuring Sulley, Mike Wazowski, and Boo, with Boo's door caught in a mechanical arm. Further details on the complete prize lineup are expected to be announced soon, building immense excitement among fans!
