HIYA Toys, the Chinese toy brand known for its extensive lineup of Toho kaiju, has announced the latest addition to its EXQUISITE BASIC series: the "Super Flying Monster Megaguirus" from the film "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus". This new action figure is priced at $89.99 USD and is slated for release in Q4 2027.
"Godzilla vs. Megaguirus", the second installment in the Millennium series, depicts the Japanese government's desperate efforts to defeat Godzilla, who is relentlessly attacking nuclear power plants. To combat the kaiju, the G-Graspers are formed, launching the "G Annihilation Strategy" which employs the ultimate anti-Godzilla weapon, the Dimension Tide black hole cannon. However, a test firing of the Dimension Tide inadvertently summons ancient insects known as Meganula. Their larvae eventually absorb Godzilla's energy, evolving into the formidable Megaguirus, setting the stage for a climactic three-way battle in Tokyo!
The EXQUISITE BASIC Megaguirus measures approximately 24.5 cm (9.7 inches) in length, meticulously recreating its terrifying, sharp silhouette. Its insect-like body is adorned with reptilian, jagged spikes. The vibrant red compound eyes and the subtle gradient transitions on the spikes are faithfully reproduced with paint applications, capturing the monster's true colors from the film. Its expansive wings feature intricate layered textures, complemented by dark tones and brown-gold gradients. Articulation points are integrated throughout the entire body, allowing for dynamic flying poses, such as fully extended wings or high-speed dive attacks. The figure also includes a display stand, perfect for recreating its in-flight appearance and its fierce aerial combat with Godzilla!
