Kotobukiya, the renowned Japanese model kit manufacturer, has announced the latest addition to its popular "Megami Device" mecha girl plastic model series: the "Desire Maiden Medic Night Shift," slated for release in February 2027.
The "Desire Maiden" is a brand-new character line within the "Megami Device" series. Character body design is handled by Amama, known for her eye and face designs across the "Megami Device" line, while Tasuku (@tas_k), designer for the "Megami Device BUSTER DOLL" series, is responsible for the mechanical designs. The second unit in this line, "Medic," boasts an angelic appearance. She comes equipped with two large rifles capable of firing healing rounds and a flight unit designed for enhanced stability when transporting injured allies. Her glasses also feature a function to display teammates' health bars, making her a specialized support-type Megami Device focused on nursing and aid.
The variant "Desire Maiden Medic Night Shift" reinterprets the unit for night combat with a darker aesthetic. This version features a new color palette of black, red, purple, gray, and clear red for its molded parts. Face designer Amama has also created three newly painted expression parts, fully capturing a mysterious and alluring dark angel image that starkly contrasts with the original version. Additionally, the kit includes chest parts for her sister unit, "Raider," allowing collectors to swap them out and choose their preferred size.
The armament parts retain the same design as the original Medic. Her dual wings are mounted on articulated waist-mounted supports, with posable bases and feathered tips. The two substantial large rifles feature intricate detailing and can mount clear parts to represent healing rounds. The backpack frame is equipped with numerous 3mm universal hardpoints, allowing the rifles to be attached to the backpack, or the entire backpack can be utilized as a flight support unit. Builders are also encouraged to unleash their creativity, modify the assembly, and create various original weapon configurations.
