BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division in Japan has announced the latest addition to their HI-METAL R die-cast figure series: the "Berserga (WP)" from the classic anime "Armored Trooper Votoms," slated for release in February 2027.
The ATH-Q64 Berserga is a heavy Armored Trooper (AT) developed on the planet Quent specifically for Quentian mercenaries. Each Berserga is custom-built by local artisans, meaning there are virtually no unified specifications. However, they typically feature Quentian Element-type metal detection sensors and shields equipped with massive pile bunkers. This particular release is the "Berserga Water Proof (WP)" variant, which appeared in the anime's Kummen arc, piloted by Ru Shako. This version boasts a waterproofed body and leg-mounted stabilizers designed to increase ground contact and prevent sinking in muddy terrain.
The "HI-METAL R Berserga (WP)" is crafted with entirely new parts, faithfully recreating its imposing 18 cm height—significantly larger than standard ATs—and its armor design, which evokes the look of medieval knight's plate. The figure features matte and gold color applications, along with detailed body markings, conveying the substantial, weapon-like presence of the machine.
This AT inherits the excellent articulation design seen in previous "HI-METAL R Armored Trooper Votoms" releases. Multiple die-cast joints in the limbs and waist allow for dynamic and powerful battle poses. The head armor can open to reveal the cockpit, and numerous articulation points in the lower body enable realistic landing poses. The leg-mounted stabilizers can be posed in their deployed state thanks to articulated shafts, while the side rollers can be swapped out to recreate their gear-like extended form.
Accessories include its dedicated rifle and a shield featuring an extendable pile bunker mechanism. Additionally, a same-scale articulated pilot figure of Ru Shako is included. This figure meticulously captures the Quentian's characteristic tall, muscular physique and attire, complete with articulated limbs. Two interchangeable head sculpts (helmeted and unhelmeted) allow for versatile display, and the figure can be placed inside the cockpit to recreate boarding scenes.
