From BANDAI SPIRITS' popular BANPRESTO Prize Figure brand, the "MATCH MAKERS" series, known for recreating dynamic battle scenes between two characters, has unveiled its latest addition from the beloved anime "Dragon Ball." The new "MATCH MAKERS Grandpa Gohan (VS Son Goku)" figure was released on September 10, 2026!
This release captures a pivotal moment when Son Goku, seeking the Dragon Balls, enlists the help of Fortuneteller Baba. He agrees to fight five warriors sent by Baba, with his final opponent being a mysterious fox-masked fighter. This enigmatic figure is none other than Goku's adoptive father, Grandpa Gohan. As Master Roshi's first disciple, Grandpa Gohan adopted Goku and taught him martial arts. He tragically died when Goku, in his Great Ape form, accidentally stepped on him. Later, he asked Fortuneteller Baba to temporarily bring him back to the living world for a battle with Goku, ultimately forfeiting to grant Goku a fortune-telling session.
The "MATCH MAKERS Grandpa Gohan (VS Son Goku)" figure meticulously recreates Grandpa Gohan's hidden true form, faithfully detailing the halo above his head, as well as the wrinkles and beard visible beneath his mask. Posed in a ready-to-fight stance, this figure can be paired with the separately sold "MATCH MAKERS Son Goku (VS Grandpa Gohan)" to perfectly recreate their memorable father-son sparring match!
