PLEX Inc. of Japan has announced a new product line for its popular "Mini Sofubi Chronicle" (ミニソフビクロニクル) monster sofubi blind box series: the highly anticipated crossover collaboration, "Godzilla VS Digimon Mini Sofubi Chronicle" blind box figures. These figures will retail for a suggested price of 660 JPY per box and are slated for release in early December 2026!
The "Godzilla VS Digimon" project is a special collaboration launched by Bandai to commemorate Godzilla's 70th anniversary. Legendary designer Kenji Watanabe personally spearheaded the designs, centering the concept around "G-Cells invading the Digital World." This premise sees Digimon mutating into "G-Erosion Mode," characterized by dark skin and dorsal fins, due to infection. The collaboration has already unveiled a co-branded color virtual pet device featuring Godzilla's theme song, alongside various detailed figures.
Now, this dream crossover is making its debut in the popular Mini Sofubi Chronicle series! The "Godzilla VS Digimon Mini Sofubi Chronicle" collection includes four collaboration designs previously featured in the popular "DEFOREAL" sofubi figure series: "MetalGreymon: G-Erosion Mode," "SkullGreymon: G-Erosion Mode," "Machinedramon: Type-3 'Kai' Mode," and "WarGreymon: G-Erosion Mode." Additionally, the set features original versions of WarGreymon and Godzilla (1999), making for a total of six unique types! These sofubi figures boast a charming low-head-to-body ratio, showcasing the distinctive collaboration designs. They utilize both flat and pearlescent paint applications to meticulously recreate metallic textures and the intricate details of the G-Erosion skin. Standing approximately 4 cm tall, these figures are a delight to hold and display on any shelf. This dream collaboration is an absolute must-have for collectors!
