Kaiyodo, the renowned Japanese model manufacturer, has announced upcoming additions to its popular AMAZING YAMAGUCHI action figure line. New "Mazinger Z New Color Ver." and "Great Mazinger New Color Ver." figures, based on Go Nagai's classic "Mazinger Z" and "Great Mazinger" series, are set for limited release at Kaiyodo direct stores and specific events. Detailed product information is expected to be revealed soon.
The AMAZING YAMAGUCHI series is sculpted by Kaiyodo's celebrated artist, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, and features highly articulated figures utilizing the acclaimed Revoltech joint system. While the line initially focused on Marvel and DC superheroes, it has expanded in recent years to include popular Japanese anime characters from franchises like "My Hero Academia" and "Attack on Titan." Known for their powerful sculpts, the series' signature flexible articulation allows collectors to recreate dynamic, action-packed poses from the original works with a variety of accessories and effect parts.
The AMAZING YAMAGUCHI "Mazinger Z" and "Great Mazinger" figures, originally released in 2025, feature Katsuhisa Yamaguchi's classic and refined armor sculpts based on their anime designs. Without compromising the aesthetic integrity, precise articulation cuts and Revoltech joints are strategically placed throughout the figures, allowing for dynamic and powerful poses that evoke the fluid movement of a human body.
Preview images for both "New Color Ver." figures have been released, showcasing significant color adjustments. The original silver, black, and metallic blue paint schemes have been updated to a striking black and white palette, bringing them closer to their appearance in the "Mazinkaiser" OVA.
