Awaken the White-Eyed Evil God! Aoshima Unleashes PLAfig. Godzilla (2001) from GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack

Many people who disappeared in history are crying out, that desperate cry...

—Yuri Tachibana, "The Guardian Monsters"

It's been a while since we've delved into a kaiju [] build, but we're back with a familiar favorite: Aoshima's PLAfig. line. This time, we're unboxing one of the most popular and iconic figures from the Millennium Godzilla series – the ultimate embodiment of countless resentments from those who perished in World War II: the White-Eyed Godzilla.

The prototype was once again designed by RYO (Nendo Seijin), who also sculpted the previous Millennium Godzilla. The intricate skin textures are incredibly detailed, and with simple assembly using model glue for large, solid connections, you can easily complete the terrifying form of this God of Destruction.

In terms of appearance, the model significantly reduces the bulky, sagging suit-like feel seen in the movie. The unnatural look of a loose, flabby neck caused by an overly hunched, forward-leaning posture has also been modified. These changes, in my opinion, better restore a sense of biological realism that might exist in the real world.

The dorsal fins are still the clear molded parts included with the limited edition. For painting, a black primer was used as the base, with a slight white dry brush on the edges, and finally, a thin coat of clear blue sprayed on the central base to achieve the glowing effect of an impending Atomic Breath.

The fin-like shapes are rounded, much like coral, unlike the wild and sharp fins of the previous Millennium Godzilla. There are also fewer of them, making them easy to install on the White-Eyed Godzilla's back. With some subtle mood lighting, the silhouette of the most brutal God of Destruction in history emerges.

Its dead-white eyes gaze, carrying the whispers of endless spirits... The fiercest Godzilla lands on Ogasawara's Mago-no-Te Island!

Those hollow white eyes truly are the soul of the White-Eyed Godzilla (though that might be a bit of a cliché)!

While the mouth isn't sculpted in an open pose, missing the chance to recreate wet internal oral details (a successful shortcut!), the ferocious snarling expression with bared fangs is still quite intimidating.

The streamlined lower body, combined with sharp claws, creates an even more aggressive presence.

The flexibly swinging tail at the rear is also one of its infamous weapons; a moment of silence for the female patient with the broken leg who couldn't escape the calamity.

Lined up alongside its PLAfig. predecessors, the White-Eyed Godzilla, despite lacking the flashy, ornate dorsal fins, still commands a shocking presence of an evil god capable of world destruction, both in terms of volume and sheer mass.

As a final Easter egg, a wildly beating heart is included.

Why give me a beating heart?
And leave me on this lonely battlefield?

Because it's still waiting for the awakening of the Millennium Dragon King – King Ghidorah...
