Japanese model maker X-PLUS TOYS has teased the upcoming release of the latest product from its non-articulated plastic model kit series, "X-PLUS MODEL KIT," the "EVANGELION Unit-01 G-Awakening Form," which is part of the "Godzilla vs. Evangelion" collaboration project. Pre-orders are expected to open soon, with a scheduled release in December 2026.
The dream collaboration project, "Godzilla vs. Evangelion," officially kicked off in 2016, sparked by Hideaki Anno's "Shin Godzilla." This partnership has yielded numerous popular products featuring both Godzilla and EVA. Notably, the pachinko machine "P Godzilla vs. Evangelion: G-Cell Awakening" presents an entirely new story that merges the two universes, depicting a mutated form of Unit-01 after being struck by Godzilla's atomic breath and subsequently infected by G-Cells.
The "X-PLUS MODEL KIT EVANGELION Unit-01 G-Awakening Form" is a fixed-pose, non-articulated plastic model kit. It utilizes precisely molded parts to capture a ferocious stance, with its body leaning significantly forward and its maw wide open. The kit meticulously renders Unit-01's distinctive armor design, along with the rough skin and massive dorsal fins that have mutated after being infected by Godzilla cells.
