From the BANDAI SPIRITS company's plastic model brand BANDAI HOBBY, the latest entry in the popular "HG" robot plastic model series has been announced: the "HG 1/72 Bastole" from the classic anime "Aura Battler Dunbine" is slated for release in January 2027.
The Bastole is an experimental unit developed by the Kingdom of Ah, equipped with a new aura amplifier. It can flexibly adjust to a pilot's Aura Power, allowing even ordinary individuals with low Aura Power to maximize its performance. Standing 9.4 meters tall, its pink body makes it one of the largest Aura Battlers in the series. However, its slender proportions and light weight grant it exceptionally high mobility.
The "HG 1/72 Bastole" kit features entirely new molds, meticulously recreating its slender, bee-like physique based on the anime's on-screen depiction and design drafts. It incorporates the latest color separation and part division technology from the HG plastic model line, delivering intricate detailing. The head sculpt, which closely resembles a bee, is composed of multiple pre-colored parts in pink, yellow, black, and white. For the compound eye-like armor on both sides, builders can choose between solid yellow parts or clear parts featuring a "REFLECTION CUT" finish.
Furthermore, the abdominal cockpit hatch can be assembled with either "semi-mirror pearl" parts, which serve as an alternative to plated parts, or solid color parts. The wing parts on the back precisely replicate the wing vein details and utilize structural coloring to achieve a gorgeous iridescent sheen that shifts with angle and light.
Accessories include an Aura Sword, a 5-barrel Aura Launcher, and claws that can recreate their firing state with included monofilament wire parts. Combined with the highly articulated joints throughout the body, collectors can achieve a wide range of dynamic battle poses, showcasing the unit's characteristic high mobility.
