In addition to surface preparation and sculptural reconstruction, this project features a newly designed EMERGENCY warning structure created with 3D printing. The custom piece adds detail missing from the original kit while strengthening the atmosphere of the overall display.
Unit-01’s purple finish uses concealed undercolors beneath multiple layers of transparent paint, producing a shifting sheen reminiscent of a coated surface. Matte black serves as the primary contrasting color, further emphasizing the model’s structural depth.
The A.T. Field combines gradient-painted clear parts with carefully positioned lighting to recreate the optical effect of its energy unfolding.
The display was also upgraded with a USB Type-C power module and LED components, bringing the paintwork, lighting, and diorama elements together as one fully integrated presentation.
