BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS division has shared an official preview of three upcoming releases from its popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line: "S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA MONKEY.D.LUFFY -LOS ANGELES LAKERS ver.-," "S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA MONKEY.D.LUFFY -NEW YORK KNICKS ver.-" and the "S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Basketball Goal Set." All three are scheduled to hit stores in Japan on October 24!
These three releases are part of the "ONE PIECE" and NBA crossover, dressing Luffy in uniforms inspired by some of the league's biggest teams. First up are the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks editions, accompanied by a basketball hoop set featuring both the ONE PIECE and NBA logos. Additional figures wearing Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, and Oklahoma City Thunder uniforms are also on the way. Each figure includes two shared interchangeable faces, a basketball, multiple interchangeable hands, an exclusive special expression, and a team-specific display stand. Every face captures Luffy's personality so perfectly that collectors may have a hard time stopping at just one!
The newly released product photos first highlight the paintwork. Distinct colors and lettering faithfully recreate the look of each team's uniform, while the number 5656 on the back plays on the Japanese pronunciation of Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit powers. Even the typefaces and spacing used for Luffy's name and number differ between the two teams, a detail NBA fans are sure to appreciate.
The ball-holding hands are sharply sculpted, while the figure's articulation has been specially engineered around the range of motion needed for basketball poses. With the included ball, Luffy can easily be posed dribbling, shooting, or protecting the rock. Add the interchangeable expressions and dedicated display stand, and Straw Hat Luffy looks ready to take over the court!
The "S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Basketball Goal Set" stands approximately 11.2 inches tall, making it a substantial display accessory. Developed under official NBA supervision and modeled after a real basketball hoop, it creates an impressively authentic courtside setup. The ONE PIECE and NBA logos on the backboard are major visual highlights. Two A4-size court-design sheets are also included and can be combined to recreate a complete half-court!
